Samsung has really stepped up to the plate with their latest tech release. The Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge are, dare we say, things of beauty. Gone is the flimsy plastic casing, replaced by the sleek sophistication of a brushed aluminum frame.
Both phones have a gorgeous five inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels, utilizing super AMOLD technology. One of the few things separating the S6 and the S6 Edge is the curvature of the phone. The two run on the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop operating system with TouchWiz technology.
Another great feature is that Samsung has simplified their navigation with only two taps to the home screen to open the camera, and personalized top contacts available with just a swipe to the right. And you can forget about the app clutter that comes along with most new phones. Samsung has limited the number of apps pre-loaded into the S6 and S6 edge, leaving a few useful apps to try, including one of our favorites, the Smart Manager.
Samsung has also given their camera a significant upgrade, and it now opens faster than ever before. The rear facing camera shoots 16 megapixel with an F1.9 lens, and the front facing camera shoots 5 megapixel.
You can now eliminate the hassle of all those charging chords thanks to the S6 and the S6 Edge’s wireless charging capabilities. All you need to do his just purchase one of the Samsung charging pads and you can literally set down your phone and forget about plugging in, which is going to be useful considering that the model’s battery is now smaller than before.
On another important note, you’ll need to be extra careful around water with your new S6 or S6 Edge, as neither version is water resistant like its predecessors. While you may not consider this a big deal now, you may think differently the first time you accidentally drop your phone in sink or toilet.
